New Year New Goals

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3 Well, 2020 is over!  Hallelujah!!!   I don’t know about you but I learned A LOT in 2020, about myself, my family and my community.  I have enjoyed the slower pace of life, but I have also missed meeting friends for coffee, going to dinner for date night with my husband and going out for a fun activity like roller skating or bowling with my kids.  A new year is upon us to set new goals, have new adventures and make new memories. As we all look...

Immanuel

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Matthew 1:23 All too often, the real meaning of the Christmas season is lost. We get carried away by all the holiday parties, shopping and festivities and we forget the very reason we celebrate Christmas at all.  Jesus!  A baby born of a virgin. God, in the flesh, to live out a divine purpose. God became human so He could be with us and pay the price for our sins.  It is part of Jesus’ identity to save God’s people from...

“Eat to fuel your body, not feed your emotions” Unknown – Part 1

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.  Psalm 90:14 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah Psalm 61:4 Is food your hiding place?  The place you run to with all your emotions?   Between the pandemic and the holidays coming up, our emotions can be at an all time high.  Holidays are the most stressful time of year and then, add in that we have been living in the midst of a pandemic for the last 8 months.  Where are...

Thanksgiving Traditions

Thanksgiving Traditions Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34 Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday!  If you read my Bio, you would already know that I love to cook for my family and friends. If you haven’t read it, I love to cook for my family and friends.  I love the smells, the tastes, the smiles and the conversations that happen around the table.  I would love to share some of our family traditions with you.   In the Gottesman house, we love to intertwine the Love of Jesus in everything that we do. So it is...

Have you tasted the Lord’s goodness?

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8 Have you tasted the Lord’s goodness? In life there are some things that you really can not understand until you experience them.  For example I could tell you about a piece of five layer chocolate cake that is so delicious and the icing is a spoonful of creamy chocolatey goodness, but you would never know how it actually taste until you try it for yourself.  Or I could tell you how amazing a specific book is, how the words jump off the page...

What Dead Things Or Dead Places Are You Holding On To?

What dead things or dead places are you holding onto?  Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it on my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not receive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 As the season changes from Summer to Fall and we watch the leaves...
