French Toast Bake
This is my families favorite breakfast casserole we have every year on Christmas Morning!
Ingredients
1 loaf of French bread
8 large eggs
1 cup half & half
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
Cut French bread into 1 inch slices
Arrange in a 9 by 13in baking dish, overlapping the slices
In a large bowl combine the rest of the ingredients and whisk together
Pour mixture over bread, making sure to cover evenly. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight
Next day preheat over 350 degrees
Prepare praline topping
2 sticks of butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well
Spread praline topping over the bread and bale for 35-40 minutes until lightly golden
